The Tartu blanket is the third pattern in the collection of blankets inspired by Estonian national costumes. The first pattern was the Urvaste blanket, the second was the Peetri blanket.

The blanket is worked in one piece in mosaic garter stitch. The pattern is charted and the charts are written out. You may use either the charts or the written instructions, though please be aware that the charts also have instructions for how to use them.

The sample was made in Aran weight yarn, Novita 7 Veljestä.
It is a superwash yarn, 75% wool, and 25% nylon. Different yarn weights and fibres can be used. Using different fibres affects the size of the blanket and the amount of yarn needed.
Novita 7 Veljestä Solids yarns used for the sample (size S):
MC #010 Off-White, CC1 #170 Navy, CC2 #644 Rowan, CC3 #555 Anemone.
