Do you love colourful patterned Christmas Stockings but are intimidated by stranded colourwork? Mosaic knitting is the solution! It is a fun and easy way of knitting with two colours to create a colourwork pattern which looks much more complicated than it is. The beauty of mosaic knitting is that it only uses one of the yarns at a time, while the other waits at the beginning of the round.
The socks are worked from cuff down with short row heels and a round toe.
Sample was knit in Stylecraft Special Aran (colourways White, Lipstick and Teal), 100% acrylic.

Yarn
Aran / 10 ply in three colours 100 g / 3.5 oz = 196 m / 214 yards
Approximate amounts:
25 – 30 g / 0.9 – 1.1 oz = 50 – 60 m / 55 – 65 yards of each colour

Needles & Notions
4 mm / US 6 double point or circular needles, depending on your preferred method for small diameter circular knitting
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
