The Sygis (Estonian for Autumn / Fall) fingerless mitts are knitted in rounds, in mosaic knitting. In this mosaic pattern the ”jog” at the beginning/end of the round is invisible. The mitts are not designated left or right, which extends their lifetime and makes them easy to wear.

Mosaic is easy to knit, one colour at a time and creates an interesting, slightly textured fabric. The cuff is worked in faux corrugated rib, with an attractive accent section at the start and finish, using just one of the yarns at a time. If you are experienced at stranded knitting, you can work corrugated rib, as usual, handling both yarns at the same time.

The width and length can be easily adjusted, working more or fewer repeats/motifs. The pattern uses metric and imperial systems.
The mosaic pattern is fully charted, including the gusset.
