The Love Knots afghan/blanket features a graphic mosaic pattern inspired by Celtic Love Knots. Celtic Love Knot stands for the love between two people, depicted by interlaced knots. Lovers exchange these knots just as couples exchange rings these days. It stands for eternal life and goes back to 2500 BC when the early Scottish, Welsh and Irish Celts first devised these knots.

The blanket is knitted in mosaic garter stitch. Mosaic knitting is a fun and easy way of knitting with two colours to create a colourwork pattern which looks much more complicated than it is. The beauty of mosaic knitting is that it only uses one of the yarns at a time, while the other waits at the beginning of the round. All you need to know is how to knit and slip stitches and follow a colourwork chart to create an intricate pattern. There are ZERO purl stitches needed. Directions are given how to work mosaic.

The pattern is fully charted.
The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.

The blanket can be worked in blocks and sewn together or worked in one piece following several charts simultaneously. Separate pdf’s provided for each version.
