The Talvine (Estonian for Wintery) cowl is a warm and squishy winter accessory, inspired by traditional Nordic motifs. Instead of stranded colourwork, the cowl is worked in mosaic knitting technique carrying just one strand of the yarn at a time. The sample is long enough to be worn as a snood if needed.
The cowl is knitted in rounds. The width and length can be easily adjusted, working more or fewer repeats/motifs. The sample is ten repeats wide and six repeats high.
The pattern uses metric and imperial systems. The mosaic pattern is charted and written.

• MC Madelinetosh Pashmina, colourway Mars Rover; 283 m / 310 yards.
• CC Madelinetosh Pashmina, colourway Oscuro; 260 m / 285 yards.
