Mamma slippers were inspired by traditional crochet granny square slippers. Instead of using a lot of colours as in crochet granny square slippers, the squares use different motifs. Six motifs were created, each of them given in inverted colours also.
The squares are fast and easy to work up in mosaic garter stitch. Make twelve squares, using just one motif or different motifs, it is up to you. Sew the squares together for a charming pair of slippers. The top edge of the slippers is finished in crochet crab stitch.
Adjust the gauge of the squares to create slippers that will fit anyone. Swatching is crucial for this project.
The pattern is fully charted.
The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.
